A new Curriculum document was developed at the end of 2004, titled Victorian Essential Learning Standards, VELS. This document is based on the CSF and will describe what is essential for all students to achieve from Prep to Year 10 in Victorian schools.
The new document has three key stands of learning including;
Physical, Personal and Social Learning (Health and Physical Education, Interpersonal Development, Personal Learning and Civics and Citizenship),
Discipline-based Learning (The Arts, English and English as Another Language, The Humanities, Mathematics and Science),
and Interdisciplinary Learning (Communication, Design, Creativity and Technology and Thinking).
Our curriculum is also underpinned by a set of educational principles; Learning for all, Pursuit of Excellence, Engagement and Effort, Respect for Evidence and Openness of Mind. The same levels will apply as in the CSF levels, Levels 1-6 for Prep to Year 10.
